Through The Cross

Through The Cross

A New Beginning

Sermon Description

The story of the Cross—the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ is at the center of our faith. The Cross is an expression of the power of God toward us. We must understand the purpose and the outcome of the Cross in order to experience the Kingdom of God. Without it we are left with lifeless, powerless religious activity. With it, we bring to power of God to bear in our lives.

Strength Through Yielding

Power to Change

There is a great difference between believing in Jesus—even in His death and resurrection—and applying that truth to our circumstances. There is a better life for each of us if we are willing to live through the Cross of Jesus Christ, acknowledging His defeat of sin in our lives and the power and authority we have as children of God to live in freedom.

Deliverance and Freedom

The cross is a statement of the power of God to transform our lives from the inside out. As we begin to live through the cross, we learn to think of the cross not only as the point of entry into the Kingdom of God, but also as the way we can tap into the power of God to help us negotiate the challenges of life.

A Divine Exchange

On the cross a divine exchange took place. God’s judgment due to us for our sin was poured out on Jesus so we might receive all the blessings due to Him for His perfect obedience. He took our punishment that we might have His blessing. When that truth grows and centers itself in the core of our being, it changes everything. We have an expectation God will do what He said He will do, and that’s called faith.
