Children

In the WOC Children's Ministry, adults, youth and children engage in a process of learning, discovery—and fun—that strives to create a close relationship with Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity to participate in the spiritual and emotional development of the children and volunteers we serve and in so doing grow ourselves through service and mentorship. Children's Ministry programs are offered for children from birth through 6th grade at all weekend services, as well as on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. We are committed to excellence in modeling for children how to live as Christ followers.

All of our programs include active learning methods and are set in a safe and secure environment with properly trained and screened staff. Please contact Children's Ministry for more information.

Infants to 3 Years Old

We believe that even at a very young age your child has the potential to begin understanding basic concepts about God. Therefore, all children in our programs participate in curriculum-guided activities designed especially for their age group.

Age division information for Nursery through 3 year-old children:

Infants - Swings and cribs are available in this room, where milk & juice provided by parents is given on instruction.

Crawlers - Once they begin to crawl, Infants may move to this room. Snacks provided by parents will be given on instruction or Cheerios will be provided.

Toddlers - Your child is ready for this room when he or she is walking. Snacks are provided and age appropriate Bible lessons are taught. Children move into the 2 year old room when they have their second birthday.

2 & 3-Year Olds - A Bible lesson, plus music, crafts, and play time await your 2- or 3-year old in our age appropriate classrooms.

4 Years through 1st Grade

We bubble over with the love and fun that radiate from God's Word—and it is our desire for the light of God to do the same in the heart and mind of every child.

Children are grouped by age (e.g. 4 & 5's or K & 1st grades). Instruction and interaction happen in a combination of large and small group settings, featuring music, drama, puppets, and storytelling—the focus is on creativity, learning and fun. We hope your child will join our services as we focus on Bible stories and people, along with important aspects of Christian character. Children also spend time making crafts, enjoying a snack and learning prayers.

2nd Grade to 6th Grade

In order to gain a solid foundation for their direction in life, children can focus their minds, personalities, attitudes and strengths on God. At this important stage in their lives, students can have an active and living faith, which our WOC programs can help focus through interaction, involvement and education.

2nd & 3rd Grade - Fast-paced video and team games explain the truth of God's Word in ways that kids relate to and enjoy. Students start off in rooms according to grade where they can play games and visit with friends, then come together for teaching and worship. Later, they break out in small group time where they explore the Bible lesson together, discussing and discovering how it applies to their lives.

4th – 6th Grade - With an emphasis placed on building relationships that facilitate spiritual growth—with other youth and with adults—our 4th through 6th grade programs allow children to participate in grade level groups with instruction and activities conducted in both large and small group settings. Live bands, group games, and dynamic presentations are some of the elements that bring faith to life in the 4th – 6th grade services.

Security

The security and well-being of your children is a priority for us. A photo I.D. system for pick up and drop off of all children (Birth to 6 th grade) is in place for children attending on a regular basis. Each child will have a number code that is unique to him or her. This number is printed on your I.D. In the event it is necessary to reach you during a service, there will be a display in each sanctuary with your child's number. If your number is displayed you would need to return to the child's classroom as soon as possible.

Once you have decided to make World Outreach your home church, you can register to have your photo made at the Children's Information Desk located in the Atrium. We take photos before and after every service and the cards will be available for pick up the next weekend. The registration forms are available at the Children's Information Desk and must be filled out prior to taking your photograph.

Temporary badges are in place for visitors to use. There are registration tables at the entrance of each Children's Ministry classroom area with volunteers ready to make temporary badges for you. Anyone using a temporary badge will have to do this each time they visit.
