Congratulations!

Psalm 22:10 says, "You have been my God from the moment I was born."

We at WOC want to celebrate and commemorate your decision to dedicate your child to the Lord, and give you meaningful tools to help you along the way. We encourage you to take some time before your dedication service, meditating on the message and then completing the corresponding homework. You can always return to this page to see the next message. You may also download these four assignments in a printable PDF in the resources list to the right by clicking the "Homework PDF" button.

One

Message: The most important decision your child will ever make is to place his or her trust in Jesus Christ. No one will have more influence in your child's spiritual life than you.

Homework: Make a commitment to pray consistently for your child's salvation. Write a letter letting him know that you are praying for the day that he will accept Jesus Christ as his Savior. Save the letter for the day you celebrate his decision to trust Christ or for the celebration of his baptism.

Two

Message: The health of your marriage is one of the most significant influences on the health of your child.

Homework: Decide what practical things you will do to make sure your marriage is the priority. Maybe it's committing to an early bedtime for your little one so that you have time to reconnect everyday.

Three

Message: Imagine what you want your child to know and who you hope she will become, and decide today to do the things that will help her grow up to be who she is meant to be.

Homework: Make a list of five things that you value and want to pass along to your child. Then decide on two new habits you are going to put in place in your home to ensure that your child is learning what matters most to you.

Four

Message: God places upon us, as parents, the responsibility to teach His words and His ways to our children at home.  It is our business to interweave the teaching of God’s Word with all the daily activities of our home life.

Homework: What does your family identity look like now?  What will it look like in three years, five years?  Write out the standards of conduct for each person in your family that will make the most of every opportunity God presents to you daily.
