Local Mercy Care

Local Mercy Care

Rutherford County, Tennessee is one of the most thriving and generous areas in the Southeast. World Outreach Church is thankful to be planted in such a blessed part of the nation and it is important to us as a body of believers to invest in the health and well-being of our local community. Our primary focus is to stand alongside those organizations that have a long history of expertise and excellence in merciful care and provision. Our opportunities to be a blessing, therefore, are many and varied.

Canned Food & Toy Collections

Each calendar year, we encourage the congregation to participate in two giving initiatives. During the first of the year World Outreach hosts a Canned Food Collection, benefiting a local food distribution charity during their greatest need for replenishment. Our second offering is geared toward the Christmas season through a special collection for various toy gifting agencies. Our church family looks forward to both of these events. Hundreds and hundreds of toys and cans of food and non-perishables are received on campus on behalf of these organizations. It is always amazing to see how many bicycles roll into the church lobby, knowing that they will soon roll underneath a Christmas tree for some special little boy or girl.

Local Benevolence Agencies

There are many local organizations that specialize in emergency care to applicants during times of great need, whether in food, clothing, home furnishings, or even temporary accommodation. WOC is thankful to offer our moral support and practical assistance to these agencies throughout the calendar year. We have established strong relationships with these groups and continually refer many donors toward their endeavors.

United States Military

Small Groups is a vital arm of ministry and outreach at WOC. Throughout the year, ‘shoebox gifts’ are prepared and shipped to our U.S. soldiers. They are always reminded that the WOC Morning Prayer Group faithfully covers our military each meeting and that we all carry them in our hearts year round. We have discovered that as a result, many soldiers are downloading MP3s of Pastor Allen’s sermons. It is a gift that does not stop giving!

Emergency Disaster Relief

WOC has fostered relationships through the years with many agencies who are fully trained and equipped to respond to the devastation caused by regional natural disaster. Historically, we have been privileged to stand alongside THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, THE SALVATION ARMY, and other agencies as they have responded to hurricanes, tornadoes, and flooding in the Southeast. Our prayer is that we would never need to meet the call, but our determination is to be ready to stand alongside relief organizations should the need arise.
